Independent Study- Spring Residency
Experienced fiber artists: Enjoy delicious, uninterrupted studio time!
Bring your ideas and project materials to our studio and experience a week of delicious uninteruppted, independent creative work in the community of other artists. Evening Brainstorming sessions and fabulous seafood dinners. Take a break and hit the beach! ( 6 miles away) All studio equipment is available for your use, 1 person to a 4’ x 8’ table. You may use dye pots, dye equipment, Shibori Supplies, dye kitchen, mixing equipment, propane stoves for heating ( propane fee) sewing machines, cutting tables, irons, eco-print poles for wrapping ( plastic available for purchase)
Some fabrics and scarves available for purchase- Additional fees for dyes, propane, mordants etc.
This is TOTAL Independent studio time- you need to mix your own dyes, and then at the end of session you need to wash your buckets, pots and tables. then things need to be dried and put away where you found them.
NOTE: No instruction is available during this week. Studio monitors will assure the safe and proper use of equipment, but they are not instructors and will be working on personal projects.
Each resident will receive a spacious personal workspace in a shared studioenvironment and have access to all studio tools and equipment. The studio will be open extended hours
