Get Messy, Get Inspired — A Three-Day Printmaking Retreat for Fiber Artists

Dive into the joyful, unpredictable world of mono-printing on fabric using both Gelli Plates™ and handmade gelatin plates in this playful, process-driven workshop with artist Kevin Womack.

Over three inspiring days, you’ll build layers of color, pattern, and texture using found objects, stencils, and spontaneous mark-making. As the gelatin plate breaks down with use, it reveals beautiful organic textures — no two prints are ever alike.

Kevin will guide you through techniques for creating richly layered imagery and expressive surfaces. This is a no-rules, high-fun retreat — perfect for artists of all levels who are ready to loosen up, explore, and discover new directions in their work.

You’ll leave with a collection of one-of-a-kind printed fabrics ready for stitching, collage, or further surface design.

What to Expect

Studio Environment
Create in Aya’s spacious, light-filled fiber art studio in Stuart, Florida. Enrollment is limited to 10 artists — never more than two per 4′×8′ table — with built-in power and USB access.
Enjoy fresh morning coffee, tea, and pastries, plus personalized lunch pickups from favorite local cafés.
During retreat weeks, we often share an optional group dinner at a local waterfront restaurant.
