Creative Approaches to Surface Design on Fabric (working title)(creative printing on fabric)

Learn to print fearlessly on fabric!

Using transparent, water-based textile pigments with infinite color-mixing options, learn and explore screen

printing, mono-printing, drawing, texture, resist, and color overlay techniques to create richly surfaced fabrics

for various uses. Instructor demonstrations, printed samples, finished fabric items, and design options will

add to the flow of ideas.

Participants receive valuable information and instructional handouts during this fast-paced and fun workshop.

Leave with your surfaced fabrics plus the tools, skills, and confidence to create more at home.

Adventurous and playful attitudes are welcome during this week!

Open to all levels.

Surface printing techniques:

 Screen printing with contact paper, butcher paper, masking tape

 Monoprint blocks and various mono-printing methods (stencils, vinyl transfer, etc.)

 Mark and texture making methods: pencils, markers, applicator bottles, brushes, etc.

 Color overlays with transparent pigments & various tools

Students are encouraged to bring personal writings, images, colors, and ideas that inspire them to help them get

started.
