Wet Cyanotype with Suzanne Moseley

Wet Cyanotype (any skill level)

“Wet Cyanotype” is a form of sun printing that becomes highly experimental with the incorporation of kitchen chemistry. Discover how to apply various techniques to generate a range of spontaneous effects. No prior experience is required to jump in and engage. The beauty lies in its unpredictability, making it accessible to everyone.

During the workshop, we will teach the basics of traditional and wet cyanotype printing, as well as bleaching, toning, and layering. We will use nature and found objects as our subject matter.

Suzanne Moseley

Suzanne is an experimental artist, currently working in cyanotype and screen printing mediums in both 2D and 3D formats. Her work has been shown in juried group and solo shows in the US as well as abroad. In addition to Aya Fiber Studio, Suzanne has taught Cyanotype techniques at Snow Farm Craft in Western Massachusetts; Shepherd Maudsleigh studios in Newton, MA; Mass Audubon in Cambridge, MA and on Cape Cod.

Good mix of how to and demos with time to experiment and try the ideas offered. Good to have class interaction with daily show and tell and critique. The abundance of provided supplies and studio equipment made it easy to work and process the papers we had. Great creative atmosphere all around with studio, instructions, equipment, class mates and instructor. Suzanne did a great job; clear instructions and demos; encouraged individual approaches and experimental ideas. Well paced with enough new things offered to keep ideas flowing and anticipation of more to do. The last day of “going rogue” really took off after lunch. There was a lot of energy in that place and we were having a blast. Some really great things happened too.
